Gorilla valley lodge.
Gorilla Valley Lodge is situated near Rushaga ranger station. From Kabale Road, there are signs that show the way. In Rushaga, go straight to the lodge by taking the road on the right. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is one meter away from your veranda. It experiences like you are invited into to home of the magnificent mountain gorillas. But these gentle giants are not your host, just your neighbors, occasionally coming out of the forest to spend some time in our garden. This is why Gorilla Valley Lodge is so unique.

Wagtail Eco safari camp is a budget accommodation establishment located in Rubuguri town in the south of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park presenting a rich ground for trekking Rushaga gorilla families of Nshongi, Mishaya, Bweza, Kahungye and Busingye along with Nkuringo Gorilla group and these two stations are both 10km from Rubuguri Reaching it takes 10 hours from Kampala or Entebbe airport on the road.
The camp is in a special place where you can see the endless Kigezi hills, the Virunga volcanoes, and the beautiful Bwindi Impenetrable Forest canopy. The lodge has clean and comfortable rooms, as well as a bar and a restaurant that serve a range of local and foreign cuisines.

Rushaga Gorilla safari Lodge.
Rushaga Gorilla Safari Lodge is a high-end place to stay in South Bwindi’s Rushaga Sector. It is a newer lodge in the Rushaga area of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and if you are trekking the Nshongi Gorilla Family Group this is the place for you to stay.
This appropriately constructed Lodge straddles the boundary line of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and if you are coming to Bwindi to track gorillas in the southern area of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest this is the place to stay. This is the closest luxury lodge to the Gorilla Habituation, a 4 hour adventure with Mountain Gorillas. If you want to stay here during your trip, you can see the Mountain Gorillas and get used to them.
When you stay at the Gorilla Safari Lodge, you won’t be far from the Rushaga area briefing site. Therefore you do not have to drive great distances on the morning to catch up with your gorilla trek.
The southern part of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is where the Rushaga area is. This section of Bwindi was opened in 2009 for Gorilla trekking and is believed to have the greatest amount of habituated mountain gorilla families or groups. In Rushaga there are five mountain Gorilla families namely Nshongi, Kahungye, Mishaya, Busingye and Bweza. There are 40 people in this region and it is the most focused gorilla trekking site for tourists who want to trek mountain gorilla at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Rushaga region is one of the most popular places to visit in Bwindi because it is close to Kigali Airport. Trackers who fly to Rwanda instead of Entebbe Airport because the trip from Entebbe Airport to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is difficult often choose to visit the Rushaga region.
Another important factor is that, the Rushaga region is the most suitable place for gorilla habituation for trackers who want to spend more time with the Gorillas. Rushaga is the most frequently visited location to trek gorillas at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Gorilla habituation at Bwindi costs $1,500 for four hours, while gorilla trekking safari with Mountain gorillas costs $700 for one hour.
The specific groups of mountain Gorilla families include the following.
Kahungye Family. This family was revealed in 2011. Their most enjoyable trait is the tremendous energy exhibited with climbing and all acrobatic antics making them a Gorilla tracker’s dream to hike with. They are quite entertaining.
Bwesa Family. This is a lately entailed group cleaved from the much larger Nshongyi family.
Nshongyi family. This was one of the biggest groups of mountain Gorillas for a long time. It stands out from the rest of the group because it has a big silver background.
The additional groups include, Mishaya group and Busingye group. Within the Rushaga area.
