The 5 days Kidepo valley safari is an interesting adventure that will take you to Kidepo valley national park which is one of the most authentic and beautiful wilderness in Uganda with abundant wildlife species. During the 5 days Kidepo valley safari, you will be able to engage in game drives where you will be able to view abundant animals like buffaloes, elephants, Uganda kobs, giraffes, zebras, Jacksons hartebeest, impalas, elands, oribi, topi, waterbucks, bushbucks, reedbucks and Karamajong cultural tour where you will be able to interact with the Karamajong people in the neighboring villages.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Gulu-Rhino tracking

Depending on your location on the first day of the 5 days Kidepo valley safari, our driver guide will pick you up from your hotel, brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Kidepo valley national park. The journey to Kidepo valley national park takes about 12 hours and in order to cut it short you will have an overnight in Gulu. On the way you will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino tracking for rhino tracking where after you will have lunch. After lunch you will proceed to Gulu arriving early evening and upon arrival you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Kidepo valley national park-evening game drive

After an early breakfast on the second day of the 5 days Kidepo valley safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the hotel to continue the journey to Kidepo valley national park. On the way, you will enjoy stunning views of the landscape, scenery, traditional homesteads among others. Upon arrival, you will connect to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch you will go for an afternoon game drive in the park where you will be able to view animals like buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, warthogs, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, zebras among others. After the evening game drive, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Morning game drive and Karamajong cultural tour

After an early breakfast on the third day of the safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for a morning game drive in the Narus valley where you will be able to view animals like elephants, lions, leopards, hyenas, buffaloes, reedbucks, oribi, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, topi, bush bucks, Jackson’s hartebeest, view variety of bird species among others. After the morning game drive, you will drive back to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch you will go for an exciting Karamajng cultural tour where you will be able to interact with the local people in the neighboring villages, learn about their cultural,dress code, way of living, visit their traditional manyatta homesteads, enjoy their traditional dances, buy traditional souvenirs among others. After the cultural tour, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight as above.

Day 4: Morning game drive and transfer to Gulu

After an early breakfast on the fourth day of the safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for a morning game drive in the Narus valley where you will be able to view animals like elephants, lions, leopards, hyenas, buffaloes, reedbucks, oribi, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, topi, bush bucks, Jackson’s hartebeest, view variety of bird species among others. After the morning game drive, you will drive back to the lodge for lunch. After lunch you will check out of the lodge and start the journey back to Gulu. Upon arrival, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Departure to Kampala/ Entebbe airport

On the last day of the 5 days Kidepo valley safari, you will have breakfast and then meet up with your driver guide to continue the journey to Kampala with en-route lunch on the way. Upon arrival in Kampala, your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of convenience. End of 5 days Kidepo valley safari.
